It turns out that our plywood below the roof, which was likely the original stuff from 1975, had water damage and needed to be replaced. They were able to replace the plywood at a pass through cost. I had an OUTSTANDING Experience with NOVA ROOFTEK. I had an issue with my roof where it was not totally complete, thereby resulting in a small leak in my bathroom ceiling. The response to getting us a quote was fast. They thoroughly inspected our leaky area and diagnosed the issue. They then sent someone out to fix the leak in 5 days. They removed a section of plywood, replaced it and the shingles. You cannot even tell where the patch work was done.

We recently discovered poor craftsmanship from the last roofer caused damage to the roof decking and exposed our attic to significant moisture. Due to ventilation issues and moisture damage, we had to install a new roof. I commend the team for a difficult job that consisted of removing 3 layers of a flat tall TH roof in Alexandria that needed to be fully redone. Adding to the challenge was space limitations, electric cables and small yard. This took significant effort. While there are lower priced roofers, I believe I got a fair price for a job that needed to be done right the first time. Than you Tom and Joe. We had a twenty year old roof and after some hailstorms in the summer of 23, I got concerned about the integrity of the roof. I’d rather be safe than have a water leak and also have to repair drywall in the house. Thomas came out to inspect and I’m glad I called him. The roof had a lot of hail damage and was going to fail soon. We hired him and once his crew took off the shingles, they also found that the particle board underneath was rotting and weak. It was apparently the original particle board from the 1970s when the house was built. The roof is now like new and that should help our home value when it comes time to sell.

TLDR: I had a great experience. I contacted many roofing companies to repair an area on my home where some birds had separated my gutter from my roof and made a nest. NOVA Rooftek was quick to get me on the books for an estimate. Like an idiot, I forgot the day of the estimate and was not home. Fortunately they completed the estimate anyway and I hired them to do the work. Since this involved pests in the attic, this work was also coordinated with a pest remover and they were very willing to work with the schedule of the pest company. The work was scheduled promptly for the day after the pest removers were here. Again, a great experience and I would absolutely hire them again.

While the estimates were all roughly the same, Thomas went above and beyond the others to assess the original roof himself and didn’t charge an additional fee to do so (like many companies do), which enabled him to see the recent wind damage that ultimately helped us get our insurance claim approved. Before we had even officially committed to give NOVA the work, Thomas also attended our insurer’s site visit and assisted with our insurance claim process. We of course ultimately hired his crew, which was very quick and professional and completed the work on our townhouse in about 6 hours. I only have great things to say about Nova Rooftek, Thomas, and Daniel. Rooftek was recommended to me by both my Realtor and Home Inspector – who did not know each other or know that they were both recommending the same company. It isn’t surprising that they came highly recommended. We had our attic inspected by Nova Rooftek after a serious leak and they found a damaged spot that was blackened with water damage. The roof was already on its last leg (~25-30 years) and so we decided to replace the roof and the boards that had rotted. Daniel was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, checked in to make sure certain color decisions were right, and followed up with another attic inspection to make sure everything was taken care of. The crew arrived early, kept our property as clean as they could, and were gone by nightfall. They worked really efficiently. Thomas did a follow up inspection. Unfortunately, and likely inevitably, there was a lot of debris in our attic and Thomas kindly lent us a shop vac to help with a bit of the clean up. Thomas has also been here a few times prior to the new roof to help with miscellaneous roof issues and has been extremely thorough and thoughtful about any issues that have come up. Would recommend for both inspections and roof replacements.

Dan and Thomas were great! We just bought our house and needed to replace some missing shingles. We were concerned that any roofer we hired would just try to upsell us with replacing the whole roof. Thomas was able to do the repair without causing further damage and was able to send me a quote for when the roof will eventually need replaced. They were able to give us another year with this roof so that we can save up and buy the roof we want.
I highly recommend NOVA ROOFTEK. I contacted several roofing companies to do an on site inspection to assess whether I need a roof replacement or just a patch up. None of them physically went up to the roof to inspect it. Only satellite imagery and eye check from the ground level was used (COVID is not an excuse.. you can climb a ladder to check a roof without coming into contact with people). Needless to say, Daniel Sears from NOVA ROOFTEK not only gave me a free inspection and actually climbed up to take a look, but worked with my insurance company to make sure I didn’t have to pay a dime more than was necessary. He also helped me remove an old satellite dish that was there from the previous owner of the home. He wore a mask and shoe coverings any time he entered my home. Daniel made me comfortable and was more than sufficiently communicative throughout the whole process. Their crew was on time in the morning and did an excellent job cleaning up. They even cleaned my neighbors yards, leaving it better than how they found it. I truly appreciate that level of care and service. My roof looks great and they used Certainteed Landmark shingles. The entire system is certainteed so if anything goes wrong, the 30 year transferable warranty will cover the entire system. This company was excellent from start to finish and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a new roof. This whole thing started for us when mysterious leaks began appearing in our ceilings after storms. We were told by a repairman that the problem was holes in the roof. We had several companies come out and take a look, and NOVA Rooftek was the last company we called. I was immediately impressed with Thomas because of his honesty and knowledge, and the time he took to actually get to the bottom of the problem. Even though it was against his interests to do so, he advised us that the ceiling stains were most likely caused by an issue with our siding, not the roof, and recommended getting a siding company to look at it. He also repaired the roof holes for SIGNIFICANTLY less money than we had been quoted by others – $300 as compared to $1,200 quoted by the next lowest company. We already knew our roof was old (last replaced in 1992) but he also pointed out that there was significant storm damage. He was pretty confident that if we wanted to get our roof replaced, insurance would pay for it. He explained how insurance companies assess storm damage and what the process might look like. We had not thought to contact insurance before this because we figured there was no chance of coverage given the roof’s age. In the end, insurance DID agree to pay for the replacement and we went with NOVA Rooftek for the work. I’m actually amazed at how smooth the process was. One of the things that really stood out to me was their responsiveness and communication – both Thomas and Dan were incredibly available to answer any questions or concerns I had, answered the phone and responded to my emails immediately – as in, within minutes. I really appreciated this. They also really took care to avoid any damage to our yard, which I’ve heard can be a problem with some companies. A neighbor actually ran up to us after the work was done and raved about how impressed she was with how they protected our plants. She said she had never seen a company take such care to tarp over everything and clean up so thoroughly afterwards. And most importantly, we love the new roof! It looks great and we have gotten a lot of compliments 🙂 They use a high quality type of shingle that is longer lasting and looks very attractive – our roof looks much more textured and dynamic (I’m attaching some pictures). Another neighbor put it best – “we thought your roof looked fine before, but DAMN! I really enjoyed working with this company. I knew I needed a new roof when I called. They gave a free estimate during which they realized my roof could be claimed under my homeowners insurance due to wind damage which ended up saving me a ton of money. They were efficient, friendly, and provided high quality work! They were also very COVID conscious with masks and foot coverings when necessary. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a roof.
I contacted 6 different roofing companies and NOVA Rooftek was not only the first to respond but also the most affordable by a long shot. Thomas came out the day after I spoke with him to look at the area on our roof that was leaking due to a poorly installed satellite dish. He gave me a fair quote to remove the satellite, install some new plywood where the old had started to rot, and replace the surrounding shingles. He also took a look at the whole roof and gave me a free assessment of the overall condition of it which I greatly appreciated. He was easy to communicate with and showed up right on time with his team during the scheduled time window. Overall we had a great experience and I’m grateful they were so quick to respond and willing to work on a roof repair since many companies were not interested in helping us unless we were in the market for a brand new roof. Will definitely recommend to anyone needing a roof repair!

We did a completely new roof with all our plywood replaced (we had an overdue roof that needed complete replacement). You can imagine the anxiety. Thomas and Dan did above and beyond every step of the way. They helped relay all the costs – and possible additional costs that can happen. Their work was absolutely great. They made sure our roof, skylights, and other materials were installed as we intended them. They even spent the next few days after installation doing extra cleaning and quality check work. I was about to write the second largest check of my life (after a down payment) for a new roof and, acknowledging my own complete lack of knowledge and experience with roof installation, I wanted someone who I could trust to review the work on my behalf. Enter NOVA Consulting. I called asking if they could help and Daniel reassured me about the process. When the roof was done I called and easily scheduled an inspection. Thomas arrived right on time and got to work giving the new roof a thorough evaluation. We have three different roofing materials and Thomas demonstrated his expertise in all three. He shared his observations along the way, answered all of my questions helpfully, and suggested a (happily very small) punch list for my roofer. The detailed report came 48 hours later. For a small fraction of the roof, NOVA gave me peace of mind knowing we’ve done everything we can to protect our investment. And that’s good business: a friendly team doing quality work at a reasonable price to give you peace of mind. Awesome.

Thomas responded quickly to my request for a roof inspection. He scheduled me within a short time frame since I needed it done expeditiously. He arrived on time, completed the inspection, and provided my report within the next 48 hours. The report was very detailed and included pictures as well as recommendations. I truly appreciated his feedback. Based on his inspection, I found out that the contractors who replaced my roof in 2018 did a pis poor job. Nova roof consulting are really great. They are responsive, reliable, puncture, and sent me all detailed pictures of my roof and diagnosed with a solution. They are also very honest – my roof was diagnosed to be replaced, even they don’t do replacement work. They could have just say repair and do some work and get business themselves. They didn’t charge us a penny. I truly appreciate their professionalism and would recommend them to anyone who need roof inspection/diagnosis.
Fantastic company. Had a roof leak and they were out the next day to check it out. They found the problem and returned the next day to fix it. On top of that did some other side repairs and cleaned my gutters since they were already up there. Great work! Would use them again in a heartbeat.

Great experience. I had a branch fall and puncture a small hole in my garage roof. It was fixed with new underlayment and matching shingles. They provided before and after photos of the damaged area. Price was great.

Thomas is a consummate professional. He arrived on time and wasted not a second assessing our roof situation (probable roof leaks, probable flashing problems, damaged vents – all on an older roof). He climbed up on the roof in no time – taking detailed pictures with a close-up inspection. He then went into our attic and continued a very thorough analysis of the situation. Thomas is very calm, knowledgeable and easy-going. He recommended thorough, easy-to-understand solutions with extremely reasonable costs (including alternatives) – NO pressure, very confident, precise and very easy to work with.
Thomas and his crew did a fine job on the roof repair. Very pleased that he put together a quote so quickly and was able to get the repair done in good weather. We’re considering further roof work now, but would recommend NOVA Consulting Services for any patching project like this one. NOVA came back to do another patch job today (for the same good price plus Thomas added some covers for the roof vents) — and that should hold this 15 to 18-year-old roof for a couple more years. When they couldn’t come on the original date because of high winds they e-mailed me and came the next day. After finishing their work they again sent me pictures to show what they had done.
